What Drives You Crazy?

I found this over at Betty's "Of Mini-Paws and Menopause" and decided to play along.  Here are the rules as posted by her, but I'm so anti-social I'll just let anyone who wants play along and forget this tagging thingy...

These are the rules of the game: You must write a journal entry listing the 5 things that drive you CRAZY  ~ as well as the rules of the game... Then, you select five people to tag and link their names/blogs in your entry... Go to their journals and leave a comment informing them they have been tagged by you and to read your journal to see in what way they have been nailed...! Those five then MUST write an entry listing What drives them crazy and tag an additional five people...

5.  Nails scratching on a chalkboard or cardboard box;

4.  Someone typing very loudly on the computer when I want my “quite/me” time;

3.  Too much noise anytime anywhere;

2.  Caleb Marc Brown saying “I’m hungry” fifteen times a day; and

1.  Hannah being at her Dad’s instead of here with me where she belongs!

My Anti-Social Behavior Addressed

So there to everyone who said or is thinking that I am being anti-social by not posting in my blog lately.  Truth be told, I am being anti-social.  I’ve gone in to hibernation mode…this is winter after all, even if Arizona doesn’t realize it (CMB is wearing shorts today with a balmy 79 outside).  I worked my behind off (too bad not literally) during the holiday season (including Christmas & New Year's Day) and have gone into shutdown mode.   I plan on picking up the pace and moving my butt from in front of this computer.  Gotta go with my #1 goal of losing weight and it ain’t gonna happen sitting here.  Ugh and double darn.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas (oh aren’t I a rebel) and a Happy New Year!  Drop by often!

Blessings of peace and prosperity to you all!  De

Catchup Part Trois

Tuesday Two - Episode 12

Are New Year's Resolutions made to be broken? Perhaps.

While you ponder that issue, I want to send a pat on the back to Wil of "
The Daily Snooze" was first to answer last week's question! Congratulations, Wil!

For those who have never played, the rules are simple: I offer two different questions, both related to the same topic, but you only choose one of them to actually answer.

Last week, Jess of "CIW: The Other Invisible" was first to answer last week's double question edition. Congratulations, Jess.

Now, onto this week's choice of questions. And remember: don't answer both questions!

THIS WEEK'S TOPIC:
GOALS

QUESTION A:
If you could travel to your own future and see what has changed, what would you hope to see yourself doing ten years from now?

or

QUESTION B:
What is the New Year's Resolution that you actually kept most successfully, and how long ago did you make it?

Choose A or B, (indicate which question you're answering!) then either answer the question in a comment or answer it in your journal and include the link in a comment. (To be considered "first to play," a link must be to the specific entry in which you answered the question.)

Remember: choose one or the other...not both.

Well…I’m gonna answer B cause my answer to A would be the same as some of my “resolutions”.  So, without further adu…I’ve never actually kept a New Year’s Resolutions per se, but I used to work for this group of lawyers when I lived in Fort Worth and the whole office was predominately Catholic.  So when Lent rolled around everyone was “giving something up” and “what are you giving up for Lent”.  I had never done that but the idea intrigued me (being Baptist), so I decided to see if I could actually give something up I really enjoyed and stick with it the entire Lent season.  I chose chocolate.  Now before you think, “well that shouldn’t be so hard”, remember that I am female and that being female and eating chocolate are the same.  So…. surprise, surprise.  I actually stuck to it!  And, on Fat Tuesday, I ate my first bite of chocolate in over a month and it was the best I had ever eaten then and since!!!

Catchup Part Duex

Sunday Seven - Episode 18 Image hosted by Photobucket.com

On to the challenge!

THIS WEEK'S QUESTION:
Don't think of them as Resolutions. Think of them as Goals or even just "Things You'd Like." But list up to seven things you hope to accomplish before 2006 draws to a close.

Either answer the question in a comment or answer it in your journal and include the link in a comment. (To be considered "first to play," a link must be to the specific entry in which you answered the question.)

1.  Lose 20-25lbs (I went to Jenny Craig yesterday so wish me luck!);

2.  Start exercising on a routine basis (again wish me luck);

3.  Move into a bigger house (met with realtor on Thursday);

4.  Pay off more bills than I did in 2005 (13);

5.  Go to Church on a regular basis (found one, now just have to get the “regular” part down);

6.  Become more organized (don’t even look at my desk); and

7.  What the heck (I’ll steal this one from Patrick)…win the lottery!

Playing Catchup (Sorta)

Saturday Six - Episode 90 Image hosted by Photobucket.com

We wrap up 2005 with the Saturday Six, and bring in 2006 with the Sunday Seven. How's that for a double whammy??

For those who'd like to join in on the fun, playing is simple: you can either answer the questions in this journal or you can answer them in your own blog and leave a link. It is strongly recommended that you answer the journals in your blog and post the link...since several of the people who are playing have relocated away from AOL, it's important that everyone knows where your new (or temporary) blogging homes are, so if you don't mind, leave a first name and your journal's link, just so we can find you easier!

But before the questions, it was Auntie Lyn, of "Lyndas's Lullaby 2" who was the first to play last week. Congratulations, Lyn!

Here are this week's "Saturday Six" questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your journal...but either way, leave a link to your journal so that everyone else can visit! To be counted as "first to play," you must be the first player to either answer the questions in a comment or to provide a complete link to the specific entry in your journal in which you answer the questions. A link to your journal in general cannot count. Enjoy!

1. From a financial standpoint, was 2005 a good year or a bad year for you? Do you expect 2006 to be better or worse?  Well…definitely good compared to 2004.  I’m hoping things will continue to get better, but I’m a little anxious cause of new jobs.

2. What was your least favorite moment of 2005?
Moving.

3. Did you lose anyone close to you in 2005? If so, who were they?
Thank you God, no.

4. Take this quiz (if you haven't already!): What do you know about blogging?

Well, You Know What a Blog Is...

3/8 Correct
But, truthfully, most blogs probably bore you.

5. Where were you when 2005 began? Where were you when 2005 ended?
I was in Sumter, SC (shudder!).  Mesa AZ watching the ball drop at home with David & Caleb.  I had already wished Hannah an hour earlier since she was in Moore, Oklahoma with her Dad.  We toasted with Champaign (and grape juice for CMB).

6. Did you make new year's resolutions for 2005? If so, how many did you keep?
I try not to make resolutions so I won’t be disappointed, instead (like Patrick) I like to set goals.

Robin's 5'er 1/06/06

Hi guys!!!

It's Friday and it is time for what I call "THE 5'er!"     It was do the dishes or sit down and do "The 5'er"  so you see what I picked!

If you want to play all you do is cut and paste these questions into your journal. When you have answered them come back and leave a link in my comment section.  On the following Friday I will post your links and a new set of questions! Have fun!

Let's play!!

This weeks theme is...potatoes. I don't know why...I am just thinking about them.

1.  When was the last time you had mashed potatoes?  Were they regular mashed potatoes or some kind of fancy version?  Okay…It’s been a while since I, myself, served REAL mashed potatoes cause the last time I did I peeled a 10lb bag and resolved that was ENOUGH (if memory serves me right I was still pregnant with Caleb, my 5yr old).  So…then my sister Kathryn came to visit in November and made real mashed potatoes, mmmmmmm!  I thought my husband was going to propose.   And no, I’m not gonna count Thanksgiving, cause we know why…right Kathryn?

 2.  Do you grow your own veggies? Have a garden? If so are potatoes one of the things you grow?  Not since I was a kid growing up.  We had 3acres of land and Daddy had garden every year.  We all helped out, and that included planting and pulling up potatoes.

3.        French fried potatoes...do you like natural cut fries, with skin still on or the McDonald's kind?  Hmmmmmmmmm….McDonalds.  Okay…shoot me.

4.        How about potato salad?  Do you like it? Have a family recipe you have used for years?  I love potato salad.  But I like the kind with mayo in it and not mustard, just the way my Nanny and Mom make it.  But my husband and kids won’t eat it so I haven’t made it in years.

5.  Did you have a Mr. Potato head as a kid?  Ever purchased one for someone else's kid?  I’m going to copy Robin on this one and say that I think I did have one...or someone I know had one. I kinda remember playing with one. I think I bought one for Hannah, though I’m not too sure.

Bonus question just cause I think potatoes are cool...did you ever put a potato in a glass jar with water and watch the roots grow in school. Like a science experiment?  And does anyone know what the purpose of that experiment is?  I did this too, and so did Hannah.  But heck if I can remember exactly why.  I think it was to show us how roots grow.  Kathryn...I defer to you since your the teacher.  Would you PLEASE finally register and leave an answer so we can all know?!!!

Now get to it! BTW....please forgive me for getting behind in posting "The 5'er" players. I will stay on track now that the holidays are over. xoxo

PLAY ALONG WITH ROBIN!
