and it's all Betty's fault! She told me maybe I need to step up my exercising "a notch" to see if that would help me lose more weight.
I did...and I'm dying!
Oh well, you know what they say...

We're slowly approaching the 100th edition of the "Saturday Six." Can you believe it's been this long?
Before this week's questions, it's time to recognize the first person to play last week. According to the rules, to be considered "first to play," you must be the first one to either answer questions in the comment or post the link to the specific entry in which you've answered the questions. The first one to do that, for the second week in a row, was Babs, of "
">Independent Single Professional Female in the Buckle of the Bible Belt. YEE-Haa!!." Congratulations, Babs!
Here are this week's "Saturday Six" questions. Either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your journal...but either way, leave a link to your journal so that everyone else can visit! To be counted as "first to play," you must be the first player to either answer the questions in a comment or to provide a complete link to the specific entry in your journal in which you answer the questions. A link to your journal in general cannot count. Enjoy!
1. Who was the last person you visited in the hospital? Well since I work in a hospital ER I usually get visited. However, I will say the last person I personally visited was my friend’s mother who was dying of cancer 1 ½ years ago.
2. How many jobs have you held in your life? How many of those were part of your chosen career field? Oh my…12! I never realized it was that many!! 5 in my current profession.
3. Of those, how many did you leave voluntarily? All of them, with the exception of #12 of which I am still employed.
4. Take this quiz (if you haven't already!): What animal were you in a past life? (Thanks to RedSneakz!)
You Were A Jaguar
A shapeshifter that understands the patterns of chaos.
You are powerful and move without fear in dark places.
5. What animal were you expecting you'd be? A cat.
6. Time to pull this tactic again: Your turn to come up with a Reader's Choice Question. What question would you like to see asked in a future edition of "The Saturday Six?" (Don't answer it...just provide the question.) Hey…I already submitted one! How about “What were you doing 1 year ago this month, and are you more or less satisfied with your life today?”
Where were you? Do you remember?
I had just left a Republican rally at the University of North Texas (which I was attending) in Denton, TX. George H W Bush was campaigning for Dick Army. Got in my car and turned the radio on...OMG! Shock. Disbelief.
Hurried home, turned on the TV. Called everyone I knew. Went to work at Sears and wandered over to the TV department whenever I got a break. It was all everyone was talking about for days and weeks.
Now it is 20years later. Shall we bow our heads for a moment of silence and prayer for everything these brave souls risked, and the dedication that they gave their lives so that ours might be improved.

I'm stealing from ROBIN today.
I was living in Fort Worth, Texas working for attorney Dwain Dent.
Married to my ex…not so very happy.
Taking classes and working on being admitted to nursing school at TCU.
I was living in Midwest City, Oklahoma. I had just separated from my ex.
Anxious, but feeling freer than I had in a long time.
Not understanding why a friend of 20+ years would choose to side with your ex over you about your impending divorce. I vaguely remember a conversation about going to hell.
Working as a floor nurse at OU Medical Center (Presbyterian Tower) since graduating from nursing school at OU in May 95.
Hannah banana was 3yrs old.
Living in Moore, Oklahoma with my wonderful husband David of 3yrs, Hannah 8yrs old, and our not quite 1yr old, Caleb Marc.
Happier than I had ever been in my life.
Working at Midwest City Medical Center since Oct 98 in the ER.
Decided that we should adopt Lizbe/Bee.
Still living in Moore, Oklahoma and working at Midwest City Medical Center.
All above still applies, except the kiddos getting older.
Just moved to AZ from Sumter, SC (shudder).
Still happily married to David.
Hadn’t worked in 7months and determined to change that. Applying for my AZ nursing license.
Hannah going back & forth between here and OK for 9week interval visits with her dad. Hating that!
Yesterday...
I got off work at 7:15am, came home, ate breakfast and hit the hay.
Got up about 4:30pm…went “oh my gosh!”
Had my butt glued to the computer, as usual.
Trying like hell to stick to my Jenny Craig diet and getting discouraged at the scale NOT moving (at least very much).
Watched Lord of War with my hubby.
Today...
Thinking that Jenny Craig may NOT be for me, looking at the Atkins web site that worked for me last year when I lost 12lbs only to have gained 8 of it back since we moved to AZ.
Took a nap & missed my Jenny Craig appointment.
Ate a Chili’s hamburger minus the bun and had a side salad.
Glued my butt to the computer, as usual.
Kissed my wonderful husband and Caleb. Called Hannah and told her I can’t wait until she comes home next week.
Tomorrow...
I will sleep in some and then go to work the 7pm shift, hoping to make a difference.
I will try and have the ambition and dedication to exercise.
I will thank God for the wonderful family he has blessed me with, and pray for those less fortunate.

Hi guys!!!
It's Friday and it is time for what I call "THE 5'er!"
If you want to play all you do is cut and paste these questions into your journal. (there is no deadline as to when you can do "The 5'er) When you have answered them come back and leave a link in my comment section. On the following Friday I will have a new set of questions! Have fun!
This weeks theme is...CONDIMENTS! Why? Um...I have no idea..sounded fun. lol
LET'S PLAY!!!
1. Do you snag extra condiments to take home when you eat at a fast food joint? Um…..not really. Usually just enough for what we need. Sometimes we have extra ketchup packages.
2. What is the one condiment you could not live without? Hot sauce.
3. Miracle Whip or Mayonaise? Mayonaise.
4. What is your idea of the perfect hot dog? Mustard, dill pickles, cheese. Oh yeah, I agree with Robin, corndogs are the best, but you gotta have mustard. Hey…where is Ted’s?
5. Take a picture of some "stolen" condiments in your house and post it. (If you can't take a pic...take inventrory of what you have and tell me about it.) I know sometimes they aren't actually "stolen" they just give you a lot and maybe you save them in your fridge for another time. About the only thing I have is some extra straws & ketchup. Maybe napkins. I usually toss what is leftover. I know…we live in the land of plenty and we are wasteful. I hope no kid in Africa is starving because I threw some ketchup away!
Call me crazy...but does anyone else see a problem with this?
MEXICO CITY, Mexico (AP) -- A Mexican government commission said Tuesday it will distribute at least 70,000 maps showing highways, rescue beacons and water tanks in the Arizona desert to curb the death toll among illegal border crossers.
The National Human Rights Commission, a government-financed agency with independent powers, denied the maps -- similar to a comic-style guide booklet Mexico distributed last year -- would encourage illegal immigration.
Officials said the maps would help guide those in trouble to rescue beacons and areas with cell phone reception. The maps will also show the distance a person can walk in the desert in a single day. (Watch the debate over making the maps public -- 2:00)
"We are not trying in any way to encourage or promote migration," said Mauricio Farah, one of the commission's national inspectors. "The only thing we are trying to do is warn them of the risks they face and where to get water, so they don't die."
Russ Knocke, a spokesman for the U.S. Homeland Security Department, questioned whether the maps would keep those crossing the border safer.
"It is not helpful for anyone, no matter how well intended they might be, to produce road maps that lead aliens into the desolate and dangerous areas along the border, and potentially invite criminal activity, human exploitation and personal risk," he said.
Some advocates of greater immigration control were irritated by the map announcement.
"What's next? Are they going to buy them bus tickets to Chicago?" said Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, a Washington-based think tank. "It's clearly a bad thing for Mexico to be encouraging illegal immigration."
