Sunday Seven - Episode 50

Name seven things -- fads, controversies, beliefs, institutions, whatever -- that you just don't "get."

Either answer the question in a comment or answer it in your journal and include the link in a comment. (To be considered "first to play," a link must be to the specific entry in which you answered the question.)

And a special note: in two weeks, we'll have the first anniversary of the "Sunday Seven!" Do you have a question you'd like to see asked? If so, click the email link in the profile and send it to me! Thanks for playing.

1.     Double Standards – (a different twist than Patrick) why does the medical profession  and emergency responders (nurses, doctors, emts, paramedics, fire, police) feel it is so acceptable to have marital affairs, to talk about sex in detail, and proposition you while on the job?

2.    Matinees – why you have to pay less to come when nobody is at the theater, and more when the theater sells out the movie?

3.     Stem Cell Research Oposition – when you know if you had that “incureable disease” you’d want every opportunity being pursued.

4.    Illegal Immigrants – I understand why they want to be in the USA.  I just don’t get it why they think WE should convert our nation to the one they just left.  I mean, didn’t they leave their country for a reason?  Why turn the USA into that forsaken country?  Go wave your flag back where you came from!  And learn to speak English.

5.    Government Welfare – Speaking of immigrants, how & why are they able to apply and obtain welfare services, when the people who really need it here in the US “don’t qualify” because they might make $5 too much a month?

6.     Credit Score – Who governs the 3 agencies, and how is your score determined?

7.    Conspiracy Theories in general – don’t these people have a life?

that was an insightful one Patrick picked; I may have to go over there and check it out. I liked your list and reasoning behind them, especially the matinee one, but I would imagine the theater chains probably want to entice you to come in then to at least get some business going and maybe take away from the night rush when some movies might be sold out. Who knows their logic??
