Wednesday

Not too bad last night at work at all.  Started out with a bang.  I had 2 ICU patients right off the bat, along with another room.  Finally got those two where they belonged by 11:30pm.  I got a total care patient about 1:00am, but family showed up and was very helpful, which is a nice change.  I mean they stayed in the room and helped me clean her up and place a catheter.  That is so out of the ordinary these days and was really refreshing.  I got her to a room around 4:45am.  But those 3 were my only big work ups and the rest were clinic type stuff.  We were down to 1 patient at 5:15am and the charge nurse said "who wants to go home?"  So I said "me if no one else does", so me it was.

I got home around 6:15am cause I had to stay and chat a little bit after I clocked out.  I found out that Caleb had a sinus infection and David had started him on antibiotics last night.  I woke him up to see if he felt like going to school, but poor little man had a 101 fever.  So no choice about that.  And "oh my headache" he said.  Poor thing.  Tylenol and Dimetapp dispensed appropriately.

So I get up about 3:30 this afternoon and Caleb is literally bouncing off the walls, no fever.  He says, "Mom, can I stay home tomorrow if I have a headache too?"  "No dear, only if you have a fever".  "Awwww Mom!"  Geez, last night Caleb was saying he had to feel better so he could do PE today.  But no PE tomorrow so I guess he isn't really too keen on going.  Nice to see what motivates him, playing, lol.  Well, at least heis feeling better, no fever as of right now.

I've got to get ready for shift #3 so I had better get of the computer.  So how is everyone else doing?

Ciao!  De ;)
