Thanks to everyone who played last week's inaugural edition of the "Tuesday Two." Last week, Sarah of "Life or Something Like It~ LIVE from the U" was the first person ever to play the "Tuesday Two!"
For those who didn't see it last week, the concept for this one is pretty simple: there is one topic, two different questions to choose from, but you pick the one you want to answer and answer only that one.
In your answer, be sure to indicate whether you're answering "A" or "B."
THIS WEEK'S TOPIC: PREMARTIAL SEX
QUESTION A:
Do you think that sex before marriage is ever acceptable? Is it ever acceptable or is it accepted? I was taught that sex was unacceptable except between a husband and wife. But…it is and was so widely acceptable for everyone to be “doing it”, who do you listen to? Most kids and young adults fall prey and listen to their peers. “Everyone’s doing it” after all. And, what we’ve seen, especially in the medical profession, are younger and younger victims of STDs, pregnancy, and victims of sexual crimes. So…I believe that we should revert back to the old standard teaching of our parents and the church and teach premarital sex is unacceptable, and hopefully we can begin to reverse this downward trend. I know I’ve told my daughter the truth about my history. But, I’ve also encouraged her to “wait”.
or
QUESTION B:
If your kids should ask your thoughts on premarital sex, would you feed the need to "fudge" your answer so they wouldn't find out that you didn't follow your own advice?

Tuesday Two - Episode 2
Sunday, October 2, 2005
Are We Like Pedro?
My husband's boss sent this out. Sounds like everyday life, doesn't it?
Pedro was driving down the street in a sweat because he had an important meeting and couldn't find a parking place.
Looking up toward heaven, he said "Lord, take pity on me. If you find me a parking place I will go to Mass every Sunday for the rest of my life and give up tequila."
Miraculously, a parking place appeared.
Pedro looked up again and said "Never mind. I found one."
Sunday Seven - Episode 5
Also, I realized that I forgot to post my own answers, so I added them at the bottom of last week's post!
But first, it was Mrs. L of "Mrs. Linklater's Guide to the Universe" who beat everyone to the answers last week! Congrats, Mrs. L!
Take a look at your immediate surroundings. Not counting your computer, printer, other hardware, software or cables, name seven non-computer things that are on your computer table. Oh my…limit it to only 7?! *Exasperated sigh* My desk is a dumping ground. Okay…I’ll list 7 and we’ll leave it at that. And I’m certainly not brave enough to take a pic like Patrick did…he is way too organized for me!
1. A pair of Caleb’s jeans along with a T-shirt of mine (don’t ask).
2. Telephone & telephone books.
3. Bills (heavier sigh).
4. Today’s coffee cup.
5. Fax/Printer/Copier.
6. Multiple unread books and movies that I’m gonna get to one day, I swear.
7. Hydrocortisone cream for all those itches Caleb seems to keep finding.
Question of the Week #26
Found this over at Pixiedustandme. She has a question of the week. Link your answers to her journal!
"What does fall mean to you? Not everybody in J-land has 4 extreme seasons, so what does the season change mean where you live?"
Well…. we just moved to AZ so this will be my first fall here. I can already tell you the temperatures are getting cooler. Mostly just in the upper 90s now, and coolness about in the air. Not so much a “bake your brain” heat radiating off the cement. The kids are complaining that the pool is getting “cold” now. But I grew up in beautiful East Texas where there are tons of trees and I loved watching the leaves change color. Fall because it means you survived another summer. I love to feel the change in the air and getting out my warmer clothes, lighting a fire. I do hear it gets cool here in AZ in the evenings and have already seen the temperatures dropping into the low 70s at night. Another favorite of fall is Halloween & Thanksgiving, which is around my birthday. Time to start the family gatherings. I love fall.
Saturday Six - Episode 77
As usual...link your answers to Patrick's Place!
Is it October already? Say it isn't so!!
The "Saturday Six" was delayed this week because I spent the day at the James River Writers Conference where I had the pleasure of meeting several published authors and two very special folks I'll address in one of the answers below.
Before the questions, we have two rituals for the 'Six:' first, we recognize the first person to post their responses to the previous week's question. The person with the fastest fingers last week was Jennifer of "Random Ramblings...."
The second ritual is to mention those who played for the first time last week. I do that to encourage all of you to visit their journals. There's a good chance that you might find new journals that way that you'd never visited before. Last week was the first time that Malcolm and Jodi played. Be sure to stop by their journal and say hello.
1. How many AOL J-landers have you actually met in person? Easy…none. I’ve just recently discovered this fascinating land.
2. How many photos that you have taken yourself are hanging on display in your home in a size of 8x10 or larger? (The print, not the frame!) Another easy one. None. My husband is the photographer and we have multiple pics of his framed all over the house.
3. How far do you live from your job? What is your commute time like? Has the distance prompted you to consider alternative transportation because of gas prices? Well…I did live about 6-7miles, and it took me about 20minutes with traffic going through the city (so I could stop & get my go-go juice coffee). Now I don’t know. See my recent journal entries for my job woes.
4. Take this quiz: What decade does your personality live in? Nooooooooo! Not the 80s! Oh, okay. At least that is when everything cool started getting invented. Yeah, like MTV, and, and, yeah.
5. READER'S CHOICE QUESTION #70 from Kris: What is the funniest, mostoriginal Halloween costume you've ever seen? I honestly can’t remember.
6. READER'S CHOICE QUESTION #71 from Courtenay: What is your favorite paragraph in a literary work? This might be a thought, or a message, or a descriptive passage which has remained in your consciousness throughout the years. Be sure to post the name of the book and author. That’s another one that’s easy. Read it again today at Webservant2003's Inspiration Online.
ROAD LESS TRAVELED
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth
Then took the other as just as fair
And havingperhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet, knowing how way leads onto way
I doubted if I should ever come back
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere agesand ages hence
Two roads diverged in a wood
And I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference

Daily Inspiration
I stumbled across Webservant2003's Inspiration Online from Betty's journal. Just what I needed! Go to it and see what you think.
Thoughts
Got canceled tonight...again. Asked my company to try and reschedule me. Nobody in the entire East Valley needed an ER nurse on a Friday night. Now what are the odds of that? In a city of over 3million+, with 30+ hospitals. I had better not be blackballed because of the hospital I was working at. That DNR better have been taken off my name and not be floating around the Valley. I am so bummed, and hurt, and angry.
Frequently remind yourself that God is with you, that He will never fail you, that you can count upon him. Say these words, "God is with me, helping me."
- Norman Vincent Peale
But...decided not to mope. Took the kids to see The Fantastic Four (which btw is less than, unless you are 5 that is). But everyone had fun (except when I got claustrophobic in the elevator!), and that was the point.
Hope everyone else's Friday has been good.
