Are We Like Pedro?

My husband's boss sent this out.  Sounds like everyday life, doesn't it?

Pedro was driving down the street in a sweat because he had an important  meeting and couldn't find a parking place.

Looking up toward heaven, he said "Lord, take pity on me. If you find me a  parking place I will go to Mass every Sunday for the rest of my life and  give up tequila."

Miraculously, a parking place appeared.

Pedro looked up again and said "Never mind. I found one."

You know, I heard a similar one - the man stuck on the ledge asking the Lord to save him. A helicopter comes by but the guy waves him away, a hiker comes by but the guy waves him away - waiting for the Lord to help him. He ends up falling off the ledge. The guy goes to heaven and says to the Lord "why didn't you save me" and the Lord said "I sent the helicopter and the hiker" (I'm getting this probably wrong - but you get the idea).

So we need to look at the obvious and not the obvious as answers to prayers.

Good one!

Lol. Poor pedro. Have you heard the one about the athiest and the bear? An athiest was walking through the woods one day and suddenly a bear charges at him. The athiest yells "Lord please save me" Everything stopped. And god spoke" So you finally believe in me?" "OH no." "Then how do you expect me to save you?" god asked.  "Make the bear a christian." the athiest replied. God sighed and unfroze time. The bear continued to charge at the man. The he stopped bowed his head and prayed, "Dear Lord, thank you for this wonderful meal I am about to consume. Amen."
