Movie Review - The Libertine

Johnny Depp and Samantha Morton star in The Weinstein Company's The Libertine'The Libertine' follows the adventures of John Wilmot, the second Earl of Rochester, in London of the 17th century. He has a passionate romance with a young actress, Elizabeth Barry, and he writes a scurrilous play which lampoons the monarch who commissioned it, Charles II, leading to the Earl's banishment and eventual downfall.
MPAA Rating: R for strong sexuality including dialogue, violence and language.

For Die Hard Johnny Depp Fans Only
by erarein (movies profile) Aug 21, 2006 Geez! I almost turned this movie off after about 10minutes, but I'm glad I didn't. My first comment was "this is graphic" and "good grief". So word of warning, if you already didn't get the idea, this is a very sexually graphic movie. Johnny starts off in the prologue by saying "You will not like me" and he is right. But keep watching, the movie only gets better. And Johnny Depp is oscar-worthy as the Earl of Rochester. Fascinating!
